Joy of Doing is a Legacy

It didn't start with me, it started with my dad. He was a woodworker, artist, and community leader who built this philosophy and this business before I was even around to understand what it all meant. He was deeply curious about the world, always learning and then implementing, always looking for ways to make things better and more sustainable. And he had a rare gift: he could call people on the hard stuff, the real stuff, in a way that landed with compassion rather than judgment. People felt seen by it, not wounded.

Both my parents raised my sister and me under the Joy of Doing mentality: that you notice what's happening around you, that you build a life full of things you genuinely enjoy, that you stay connected to your community, and that operating from a place of joyful abundance, rather than depletion or obligation, is what allows you to show up more fully for everyone your life touches.

I worked alongside my dad under the Joy of Doing umbrella for several years before he passed unexpectedly from cancer, and then I took it over. I was just 26, and his passing left a deep scar. But I've learned that grief isn't something that goes away. It's something we grow with and then beyond. And I believe we honor the people we've lost by carrying their stories forward.

Joy of Doing is mine now. And while I have always loved carrying it forward, it has come into its own as I've stepped into coaching, because this philosophy is exactly what I want to bring to the people I work with.

What I Believe

I believe people deserve to live bigger, fuller lives, and that when they do, they move through the world differently. A lit-up person is more present, more generous, more themselves. And that ripples out further than they know.

I believe fulfillment isn't a reward. It's fuel. And joy isn't decoration. It's the thing that keeps you going, keeps you orienting toward what matters, keeps you showing up for the people and things you care about.

Enjoy the doing. Enjoy the life.

Who I Am

I am, at my core, a multipassionate. I have always believed that a full life doesn't fit in one box and I try to live that out loud.

I've been a professional voiceover artist for over ten years, with a broadcast quality home studio and a range that spans commercial, eLearning, narration, animation, video games, audiobooks, and beyond. After leaving my corporate career I focused on voiceover full time for several years and I'm still loving this side of my work. I especially enjoy telling stories and helping clients bring real human emotion to their projects.

I've also been painting for over twenty years; primarily animals, at home and in the wild. There's something about capturing a creature in its element that never gets old. I celebrate color in everything I create, whether that's painting, drawing, graphic design, or dabbling in motion graphics.

And I'm also a writer. Always have been, always will be.

My creative endeavors all bring me so much joy, but after several years of focusing solely on my creative business, I realized something was missing — the people and leadership work. I had loved working with individuals in my corporate leadership roles, helping them see themselves clearly and develop into who they were becoming. So I expanded into coaching, and it has brought my multipassionate self and Joy of Doing to a new level.

In my coaching, I work with both individuals and teams as a self-leadership coach. With individuals, I help high-capacity, deeply responsible adults stop putting off their bigger, fuller lives to get clear on what they actually want and build the courage and momentum to go after it. With teams, I work with leaders and their direct reports to build genuine cohesion, moving from a group of people on an org chart to a crew who actually knows each other, communicates well, and brings their full selves to the work.

If this resonates, stay connected. I send occasional emails on self-leadership, joy, and the work of living a life that actually fits you.
